High-Waisted vs Mid-Rise Gym Leggings: Which Should You Choose?
Leggings that roll down mid-squat or go see-through on the bend are the worst. The rise and the fabric make most of the difference, so here's how to choose.
High-waisted leggings
High-waisted leggings sit at or above your natural waist. They're the go-to for most training because:
- They stay put through squats, lunges and burpees
- They give a smoother, more supported feel round the middle
- They pair perfectly with a longline sports bra or crop top for a matching set
Our high-waisted leggings have a raised waistband with the FITASFK logo on the front, and come in black, navy, pink and light blue.
Mid-rise leggings
Mid-rise leggings sit just below the navel. Some people simply find them more comfortable, especially for:
- Running, where a lower waistband can feel less restrictive
- Wearing with a longer tee or hoodie
- Everyday wear outside the gym
Our everyday leggings use a classic mid-rise elastic waist, with prints like our logo print, mini logo and calf logo.
What to look for in the fabric
- Four-way stretch, so they move and recover in every direction
- A smooth, mid-weight fabric (around 230gsm) that won't go sheer when you squat
- A good waistband that's wide enough not to dig in
